Responsible for inspecting and determining eligibility for required licenses and permits to operate food service establishments, food vending, water supplies, public swimming pools, mobile home parks, campgrounds, tattoo facilities, and other businesses. Orders the correction of deficiencies and conducts follow up inspections to verify compliance with corrective orders. Also, educates food service managers, consults with applicants for permits, and assists the general public.

The Benton County “HOPE” Transit Program (Helping our Passengers Everyday), is a county-wide, volunteer transportation program designed to help certain individuals get to needed medical appointments. The transportation program serves elderly persons (60 years and older), persons with mobility impairments and eligible Medicaid recipients who live in Benton County. Most dirvers for the program are volunteers who use their own vehicles. A lift-equipped van is also available for those persons needing specialized transportation services.
